The Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Prince George’s County Division consists of 117 authorized sworn personnel, 29 civilian employees and approximately 40 volunteers. Title 17, Subtitle 3, Land Use Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland provides the authority to enforce Maryland laws and local ordinances, as well as the rules and regulations specific to The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC).

Throughout 90 years of service, The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission has endeavored to improve the quality of life for all of the citizens of the bicounty area it serves and of the communities in which these citizens live, work, and raise their families.
The Montgomery and Prince George’s County Planning Boards make up the Commission. Each Board is comprised of a full-time appointed Chairman and four appointed part-time members. In addition to their quasi-judicial responsibilities in land use and zoning matters, the Boards also supervise the work of the Commission in their respective Counties, as carried out by four operating departments: Montgomery County Planning Department; Montgomery County Parks Department; Prince George’s County Planning Department and Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation. The Planning Boards come together monthly as the full Commission to decide administrative matters pertaining to the operations of the bi-county agency as a whole. Southern Area Aquatics and Recreation Complex (SAARC) is the first Multi-Generational recreation complex in Prince George’s County. This simply means that SAARC was designed with every member of the family in mind from the preschoolers to the grandparents!
